JEN + NATHAN

April 11, 2018

Jen + Nathan

I have known Jen for many years and it was an absolute treat to meet Nathan. Talk about charm and character. It was an amazing day, these guys have so much love and they are loved so hard by all their people. I really enjoyed getting to hang with the Moran family again, and sheer joy of meeting the Elliots….. What a tribe!

With the wilderness at your fingertips, edged by that endless rugged coastline you can’t help feel the freeness that Kangaroobie and its laid back vibes throws down for you. This wedding celebration oozed glorious style and organic blooms. Jen and Nathans vendor tribe is an A list for the perfect celebration.

Location: Kangaroobie, Princetown.

I have been to a couple weddings now in beautiful locations/hire rooms and although they are amazing they usually have to cut it off at 11.30 – 12.00 when the party is just getting started! So I wanted a venue with no curfew. This limited our choices but I stumbled across Kangaroobie, the next day Nathan and I drove down and decided yep this is the place. Mum came with us, and as it is a school camp and was set as the camp she was absolutely horrified and wrote down a 2 page letter with reasons why kangaroobie won’t work (I had this at the wedding to wave at her haha) she couldn’t quite see my vision 😀

Photography: One Day Collective – Sweet beautiful, Danielle ! I first met Danielle at SWTAFE beauty school when she taught me. Danielle was the photographer at my brother Jake’s wedding and I just loved her no fuss attitude! We loved how Danielle were so assertive and organised yet we never felt rushed or pressured into anything we weren’t comfortable with. As soon as Nathan proposed I knew Danielle was on the top of our list. The bridal party and guests all commented on how amazing Danielle was, so thankyou!

Videography: Brett Trigg Visual. Triggy’s relaxed nature and attention to detail was one of the reasons he was also at the top of our list of people to book in first. Again, nothing was ever forced and he made us all feel so comfortable and at ease.

Florist: Wunderbar Flowers Instagram Our extremely talented girlfriend Alex was the curator of our amazing floristry. I showed her a couple inspiration pics and some photos of the venue that had been done in the past and she took that information and created the most stunning flowers. I was in love with the bouquets and absolutely amazed with the Arbour and ceiling piece.

Hair: My gorgeous girlfriend Emma Scott and her apprentice Amy who was our saviour, running around getting us coffee and printing off speeches! Emma did the whole bridal party and Mother of the bride, Mother of the groom and the grooms sister.

Birds & Fellas provided all the groomsmen with their haircuts and cut throat shaves.

Makeup: Beautiful Creatures – Ellin Stewart. I was lucky enough to meet Ellin when she did my makeup at my girlfriend Kim’s wedding in February. I loved her sense of humour and the unbelievable talent she has in her makeup artistry.

The Dress: Dubois Boutique. It was the last dress that Mum had picked off the rack, I wasn’t too keen in trying it on as it wasn’t quite the style I was looking for. Once it was on we realised how absolutely beautiful and unique it was. The delicate lace along the bottom and on the shoulders just set it off. I have never felt more beautiful than when I was wearing that dress and I really feel it set the scene for our wedding.

Veil: Dubois Boutique, a small delicate veil was all I needed with that dress, just to finish the look off. Shoes: Nine West. www.ninewest.com.au They were a really pale/grey simple heel, my something blue!

Rings: Jen’s- Allen Bros Jewellers in Ballarat. Bill helped me design my wedding band, I wanted something that complemented my solitaire engagement ring.

Nath’s- Elliott Engineering . Nathan, being a machinist made his own wedding band.

Bridesmaids:  Donna at Blossom Boutique helped us find our stunning bridesmaid dresses, I loved how they complimented both ladies.

Groom: Pitstop Menswear.

Grooms Shoes: Florsheim Australia

Catering: Brenton from the Pickled Pig serving our food for the evening, I couldn’t recommend him highly enough, it was absolutely delicious and more than enough food for our guests.

Cake: Alanna – Instagram @alannaspanfinn I don’t actually know Alanna her number was given to me by a mutual friend but she made a divine cake which was styled with Wunderbar Flowers.

Celebrant: Sue Kenna-McMillan. Sue has been family friends with both Alison & Bruce Elliott (grooms parents) and Marianne & Barry Moran (brides parents). Sue was absolutely amazing, her attention to detail and her cool calm and collected approach was exactly what we were looking for.

Signage:  Elliott Engineering Mr & Mrs Elliott, Welcome to our wedding & Cheers signage was designed and fabricated by myself and Nathan.

Styling: We really wanted to DIY as much as we possibly could for this wedding, we hired some linen, couches and chairs from Warrnambool Party Hire and also Memphis Hire in Geelong but almost everything else was bought/made and styled by myself and my tribe of amazing friends/family. Pinterest and Etsy were great for inspiration/unique pieces and the rest was things we had collected and made over the past year. The Pallet Bar, wine barrels/umbrellas, metal signage, outdoor wooden bench seats, easels, table numbers, menu’s, information frames, seating charts and my personal favourite- the Love Swing were designed and manufactured by myself and Nathan.

Lush Events – Vicky did the gorgeous ceiling and wall draping.

Entertainment: Luke Bourchier Music. Luke and his band members were absolutely amazing, we had him play acoustic in the courtyard inbetween the ceremony and reception with the three piece band starting in the hall afterwards. Nothing was an issue with Luke he was extremely professional and friendly. I would highly recommend him.

Transport: The two 57 Chev Berlairs were close family friends of ours and the HZ Kingswood belongs to the Best Man, Matt Lampard.

Hire: Memphis Hire Geelong & Wbool party hire

Honeymoon: Ireland & the Caribbean

Thanks…. It was a monumental effort for what we did at Kangaroobie, I would like to give a huge shout out to everyone for their support. My advice for any future Bride’s is to slow down, take in everything and enjoy because it really is the best day of your life. Jen + Nathan xx
